ABOUT THE CREATOR
Ever since I was a child music and the arts were apart of my life. I began drawing early on as well. Growing up, me and my sisters use to listen to my dad's records and sing along. When I wasn't singing I was drawing. I was always doing some type of art project or drawing something for friends and classmates. These were the times before technology were so readily available. You had to be creative and improvise. So I let my imagination go wild and the possibilities for me were endless. Summer after summer I would draw and sing. I always reminded myself that practice makes perfect.
As I got a little older, my sister and I were the lead singers in the youth choir at church. That's were I honed my vocal abilities. In my teen years I fell in love with the BET, MTV & VH1 networks. My favorite shows on those channels were Video Soul, Video Vibrations, Midnight Love, Planet Groove, Rap City, MTV Jams, TRL & VH1 Top 20 Countdown. I use to purchase VHS tapes to record my favorite music videos. A good portion of my allowance was spent on CD Maxi / Cassette Singles from Walmart, Blockbuster Music, FYE & Amazon.com. I still have all of the music I purchased back then and they are in excellent condition.
Over the years and now into adulthood I still have a passion for music and the arts. My love for them both is stronger than ever. My CD collection has grown so much that I am now digitizing them. Collecting limited edition colored vinyl is my new love. I am the "Go To" man for all things music. Friends and family often come to me for information on the newest releases and vintage / old school music.
I created The Bennie So Smoove Xperience to share the love I have for Art, Music, & Poetry. I can’t imagine my life without them. I hope you enjoy this website just as much as I enjoyed creating it. Thank you so much for visiting!
